Facilities
Lounges
We have two beautiful lounges.
Increasingly, groups are booking our larger lounge for prayer and worship, leadership training, and day retreats. The lounge itself looks out over the magnificent grounds and accommodates 15 people comfortably. It hosts a piano and audio-visual equipment which are available to use on request. For further information on group bookings please see our ‘Tariffs’ section of the website.
Our smaller lounge is available to both day and residential guests and is a cosy ‘home from home’ where you can relax and read a book or enjoy fellowship with God. Our morning and evening devotions also take place in this special room.
Prayer Room
Tucked away at the top of the House is our Prayer Room.
A simply furnished, uncluttered space, it provides a secluded room for day guests to spend in quiet prayer and solitude. If requested, Prayer Room guests can join other guests in the dining room for lunch.
Since the Prayer Room is used extensively by returning guests, booking is essential. Prices are in the ‘Tariffs’ section of the website.
Prayer Cabin
Nestled amongst the fruit trees in the orchard is our Prayer Cabin with views out over the field and the hills of Oxfordshire beyond.
Set apart from the main house, this is a quiet place for our guests to retreat to, surrounded by the beauty of nature.

Stanton St John
The village shop in Stanton St John carries a wide range of goods. The village has a pub, The Talk House, and a very old Parish Church which is also worth investigation. Rectory Farm, our neighbour, is a very popular pick-your-own fruit farm in the summer. It also has a farm shop (mainly operating during the summer months).

Oxford
Stanton House is five miles from the heart of Oxford, city of dreaming spires and a place of great beauty with stunning walks and parks and gardens, colleges and museums. This small city has a mighty influence as we saw again in 2021, when researchers here united to discover the Oxford Astra Zenecca Vaccine which, with other vaccines against Covid, bought hope to our country and the world. A walk through Oxford is a walk through history and into the future… One current Oxford project talks about having the history of the world in its foundations and the future of the world in its sights. In addition, the city is teeming with shops for provisions, beginning just two miles from Stanton House in Headington.

The Surrounding Area
For the guests who wish to do some sightseeing around the area, Blenheim Palace and Woodstock are just a stone’s throw away. Dorchester-on-Thames with its characteristic thatched roof cottages, and remarkable Abbey and grounds is half an hour away. The Cotswolds and the Chilterns are also nearby.
