Our vision
Today, Stanton House continues to hold to its original vision: to provide space for Christians, both individuals and groups, to meet to discern God’s call on their lives; a place to grow closer to Him through reflection and prayer. The house and grounds provide the perfect place to stand back a little from the pressures of life and seek rest, renewal and adjustment in the presence of an ever loving God. We believe that regular retreating can be deeply healing to the soul.
Retreating to a place dedicated to prayer, away from our normal routines and surroundings, is a priceless gift. In this new season, as well as the hospitality and informal spirituality of the House, we have introduced guided retreats, a rhythm of ‘morning and evening prayer’, and the option for you to have a silent retreat should you wish.
A word that we feel applies to Stanton House, and all who visit, is taken from Solomon’s famous Song of Songs:
“the winter is past, flowers appear on the earth and spread their fragrance. Arise, my love and come away.”
(Song of Songs 2 vs 11-13)
We invite you too to ‘come away and rest for a while’.
